Scotland

We are back from Scotland. The Edinbrough was beautiful and the University of St. Andrews where my husband had his conference was specially magnificent. But I was very bored since I had nothing to do there and the town is very small. There were only three streets and after seeing the old and medieval buildings there was nothing to see. I wasn't even inspired to write !!!!!!! I attached a picture of the university of St.Andrews!!!

Some trend tips

I've noticed today that Zippers are not in anymore. In US I still see bags, jackets, dresses with zippers all over them, but here in Paris there is not even one bag or jacket with zippers on them as part of design element. BUT, glitter, rhinestone, studs are IN. So to my dear designer friends, no more zipper on your bags, jackets and dresses!!!!! Notice the picture I took today!!!!

Joy

JOY was the second store I visited and to be honest I am not sure why this boutique was in the list! this was just another very cute and chic boutique like other boutiques in Paris. They carry "See by Cloe" and Sonia Rykiel and other brands which I can find easily in US. I walked in and said "bonjour" with a usual smile on my face and got very intimidated by her aura. She was not very friendly and I quickly browsed the store and went through the clothing and said: "au revoir". I am starting to think this book is for people who are looking for brand names and live in Europe. I can find all the brand in LA and so far have not been impressed with any boutiques that I have walked into. I keep researching and I might find the boutique I am looking for myself and don't even look at the book any longer.

Colette

Colette is the first store in the book which I wanted to visit and browse. Based on the book this store is suppose to be a mecca for those who adore all that glitters in the city. To me the store was a Braneys co-op! but much smaller and with a water bar in the basement. The water bar is the hanging out place for stylists, graphic designers, fashion editors and musicians. Colette is the owner's name and her daughter sarah is the discreetly taking care of everything from selecting garments to changing display window. They have a combination of well established and younger upcoming designers, so it is a place to check out the next time you are in Paris. www.colette.fr

Paris chic and trendy

Today, I found a great book call "Paris chic and trendy" which have list of Paris hip boutiques and vintage shops. I have my work done for me and I will follow the book recommendations and go to each of the stores . I will take pictures and post if on here. I am so excited!! also,tomorrow I will go to Paris flea market which i will report!!!

Paris

I am in Paris!!! and we will stay for the whole month of April . I feel very lucky and fortunate! This luckiness coming from my husband's work. He teaches at UCI and very accomplished in his field. The University in Paris invited him for three lectures and now we are here.At the same time , I am nervous about my Etsy shop since I had to put it on vacation mode. I have just started and now vacation mode,but my friend in US will help me to ship when I open my shop in two weeks. I totally trust him and he has all my bags for shipment. I will talk about Paris more and publish some pictures....
